1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering an account on pixelfed.global, you confirm that you are at least 16 years of age and that you accept these Terms of Service, our Code of Conduct, and our Privacy Policy.

2. User Accounts and Security

• Account Responsibility: You are entirely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account credentials. You agree to notify the administration immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
• Account Termination: The administrators of pixelfed.global reserve the right to suspend, disable, or terminate any account or user access at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these terms or for any other reason deemed necessary to protect the platform and its community.

3. Content and Conduct Rules

You agree not to use pixelfed.global to post, transmit, or federate content that:

• Is illegal under Swedish law or the laws of your local jurisdiction.
• Constitutes hate speech, harassment, bullying, stalking, or targeted abuse against individuals or groups.
• Promotes violence, self-harm, discrimination, or illegal acts.
• Spams, misleads, or attempts to manipulate other users through malicious links, phishing, or deceptive automation.
• Violates intellectual property rights, copyright, or privacy rights of others.
• AI and Automated Scraping: The scraping, harvesting, crawling, or indexing of any content, user profiles, or media on pixelfed.global by artificial intelligence (AI) models, machine learning systems, large language models (LLMs), or unauthorized bots is strictly prohibited.

4. User-Generated Content and License

• You retain ownership of all content, text, media, and data you post on pixelfed.global.
• By posting content, you grant pixelfed.global and its administrators a non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, display, and distribute your content as necessary to operate the service and facilitate federation across the network.

5. Limitation of Liability and "As-Is" Disclaimer

• No Warranties: The pixelfed.global service is provided on an "AS-IS" and "AS-AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
• Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the site administrators, owners, and operators of pixelfed.global shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from:
  • Your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the service.
  • Any conduct or content of any third party or other user on the service.
  • Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.
• Data Loss: While we make reasonable efforts to maintain backups, administrators are not responsible for any loss of data, media, or content hosted on this instance.

6. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the administrators, moderators, and operators of pixelfed.global from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal and accounting fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the service, or your violation of these Terms of Service.

7. Modifications to the Service and Terms

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the pixelfed.global service or these Terms of Service at any time. When changes are made, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this document. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

8. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sweden, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
